Lead story

Our site assistant is agentic. It answers, verifies, and acts.

The assistant in the corner of every page on ironrodsystems.com is not a chatbot. It is an agent. Ask it what Iron Rod Systems does and it answers from our own published sources, and any answer can become a signed TruthLock record on demand: each claim graded against our sites, documents and LinkedIn, the result sealed so anyone can check it later.

Then it does things. Say "show me the contact page" and it takes you there, with the conversation intact. Say "switch to dark mode" and the site changes. Ask it to send the conversation to us and the form opens. It can tell you the time where you are, check the weather, find places near you, and search the web for anything outside our world. When it does, it says so: those answers carry a "Live information" label instead of a verification offer, because TruthLock only vouches for what we publish.

Under the hood: a Claude model running at the edge on Cloudflare, live search restricted to our own domains, OpenStreetMap and Open-Meteo for places and weather, and TruthLock's verification API with its hierarchy of sources. State persists per visitor, so the chat survives navigation like a single-page app. Voice input works. Nothing is stored server-side.

It shipped on October 1, one day after the company's first website went live. We built it to be the demo we would otherwise have to schedule. If you want the same thing on your site, grounded in your sources and verified by TruthLock, that is a two-week engagement. Ask us, or ask the assistant.

We ran an OWASP review on our own site, and fixed what it found

ironrodsystems.com and its agent were reviewed against the OWASP Application Security Verification Standard and the API Security Top 10 the day after the agent shipped. The review found no critical issues, two high, four medium and five low. All were fixed the same day: plain HTTP now redirects to HTTPS with strict transport security; every response carries a content security policy and the standard protective headers; a verification can only be requested for an answer the agent actually gave, proven by a signed token; each endpoint has its own rate limit that fails closed; API calls must come from this site as JSON of a sane size; the agent can no longer take page actions in a turn where it read outside content, and everything it retrieves is framed as data, not instructions; links and images in the chat are checked before they render; conversations expire from the browser after a day. Reviews like this are part of every engagement, and we think the right place to start is at home.

RenderDraw engages Iron Rod Systems on AI and computer vision

RenderDraw, whose platform turns construction drawing sets into priced line items, has engaged Iron Rod Systems to extend its takeoff and quoting platform into the electrical industry. The first deliverable is an RF-DETR detection layer that finds every electrical symbol on a drawing and cross-checks the count against what is actually drawn. On its first proven job, a 19-sheet MEP set for a Manhattan office floor, it found 104 of 106 symbols on regions it had never seen, after 74 minutes of training on a rented vast.ai GPU with no hand labeling. How it works.

    TruthLock goes live at app.truthlock.io

TruthLock, standing verification for AI answers, is live as a hosted service with a free plan. It splits an answer into claims, grades each against the sources a company declares authoritative, decides what each grade permits, and signs the record. Six grades, with refusal as one of them. REST API, Python and TypeScript SDKs, a CLI, signed webhooks and an MCP server so Claude and ChatGPT can call it directly. Two patent applications are pending, held by Iron Rod Systems. TruthLock.

Essay: how many of your AI's answers could you defend in a deposition?

Jeff's essay on why a transcript is not an audit trail. Every answer an AI system gives is evidence you will either have or wish you had; confidence is not the wrong metric, it is the wrong number of metrics. The piece lays out what counsel will ask you to prove: that the answer was correct, that it came from the source that applies, and that confirmed was kept apart from unconfirmed. Read it on truthlock.io.

    MIDAAS enters early access

The Multimodal Intelligent Document Agentic AI System opens to early-access users: any file type, document hierarchy preserved, images as first-class retrieval objects, and agents that ask a clarifying question rather than guess. An open framework you run and a hosted platform, same codebase, consumption pricing. Validated on HVAC service manuals with wiring diagrams and on medical-equipment electrical drawings. MIDAAS.

Breathing Dragon AI's first prototype runs for a NASCAR Cup Series team

A conversational analyst over 372 billion rows of race telemetry in MotherDuck: speed, throttle, brake, steering, RPM, GPS and lap fraction, sampled through every loop of the track. Engineers could query it; now anyone on the team can ask about lap performance, pit road times, fuel or weather and get a chart and an executive brief. Text-to-SQL that learns from its own corrections, SELECT-only policy, audit log. It became the first prototype deployment of Breathing Dragon AI.

Digital Journal names Elle among the AI tools fueling startup growth

Elle, the patent-pending visual intelligence Jeff invented at Uptima, reads schematics, wiring diagrams and blueprints inside Salesforce Agentforce. Digital Journal featured it in "AI Tools Fueling Startup Growth This Year." The same lineage of vision-first document understanding now runs in Iron Rod Systems' consulting work. About Jeff.

    LDS Iron Rod AI launches

A scripture study tool for Latter-day Saints, self-funded by Jeff and his wife: word-perfect quotations from all four standard works, deep research across General Conference and Church publications, 293,000 cross-references, and a verification badge on every answer. It became the first commercial application verified by TruthLock, and the problem it exposed, that a wrong answer about something that matters feels like being lied to, is where TruthLock began. ironrodai.com.

Iron Rod Systems is founded in Salt Lake City

Jeff Hunt forms Iron Rod Systems LLC to do two things: build AI products that answer for themselves, and bring forty-three years of production engineering to any company that wants measurable results from AI, wherever it is starting from. Consulting from a few hours to multi-year builds, and products that came out of real engagements. Consulting.
