1. Information we collect

Information you provide

The Site has no accounts and no sign-in. You provide information only when you choose to:

• Messages to the Iron Rod Agent. The text you type or speak, and the conversation it belongs to.
• Send to us. The name, email address and any note you enter, together with the conversation you chose to send.
• Email or phone. Whatever you include when you contact us directly.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, records IP address, request path, browser type and time of access for every request, for security monitoring and operation of the Site.
• Agent context. When you send a message, your browser also sends the page you are on, your local time and timezone, and your theme setting. Cloudflare supplies an approximate location derived from your network (city, region and postal code, not GPS), so the agent can answer questions like "what's the weather." We do not store it.
• Usage counters. We log the number of agent requests and the tokens they consumed, not what was said.
• Page analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, which counts page views and referrers in aggregate, without cookies, without storing IP addresses, and without identifying or tracking individual visitors.

We do not use any of this for tracking, profiling or advertising.

2. How we use information

• To generate the agent's answers and carry out the actions you ask for on the Site.
• To reply when you contact us or send a conversation to us.
• To keep the Site secure, prevent abuse and rate-limit automated traffic.
• To understand aggregate usage of the agent (counts, not content).

What we do not do. We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, track you across other websites, or use your messages to train AI models. Human staff see only what you send us by email or through Send to us.

Legal basis for processing (EEA and UK visitors)

We process information to provide the Site and the agent at your request (performance of a contract), for our legitimate interests in security and operating the Site, and, where the law requires it, with your consent.

3. Storage and security

• Conversations are not stored on our servers. Each agent request is processed and discarded. Your conversation and theme setting live in your own browser's local storage so they survive page changes; the conversation expires after 24 hours, and clearing your browser's site data removes it sooner.
• The Site runs on Cloudflare's network with its security and bot protection. Credentials used to reach our providers are held as encrypted secrets, never in the Site's code.
• Email you send us, and Send-to-us messages, are held in our Microsoft 365 mailbox as ordinary business correspondence.

4. Cookies and local storage

We set no cookies of our own and use no tracking or advertising cookies; our analytics (Plausible) is cookieless. Cloudflare may set security cookies to distinguish people from automated traffic. The Site uses browser local storage for two things only: your theme choice and your current conversation with the agent. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals because we do not track visitors across sites.

5. Third-party services

We use a small number of providers to operate the Site and the agent. Providers that handle your messages are bound by terms that prohibit training on API data and limit retention to what processing requires.

• Cloudflare hosts and secures the Site and provides the approximate network location described above.
• Anthropic provides the Claude model that generates the agent's answers. Your conversation and the page context are sent to Anthropic under its commercial API terms, which exclude training on your data.
• Exa provides search. Searches of our own sites, and open-web searches when you ask for them, are sent as queries derived from your message.
• Open-Meteo (weather) and OpenStreetMap (places) receive only the place name or coordinates being looked up, never your message.
• TruthLock, our own verification service, receives the question, the answer and its cited sources only when you click Verify with TruthLock. See section 6.
• Google Fonts serves the Site's typefaces; your browser requests them directly and Google may receive your IP address and browser information.
• Microsoft 365 delivers email to and from support@ironrodsystems.com.
• Plausible Analytics receives the page address, referrer and browser type for each page view, discards the IP address after counting, and sets no cookies.

6. The Iron Rod Agent and TruthLock verification

The agent answers questions about Iron Rod Systems from our published sources. If you ask it to verify an answer, TruthLock breaks the answer into claims, grades each against our sources, and creates a signed record containing the question, the answer, the grades and the sources. The record does not contain your name, email or location. The agent may show you a link to that record; anyone with the link can open it. Records are retained so they can be checked later, and are superseded rather than edited.

Answers labeled Live information (time, weather, places, open-web results) come from the third parties above and are not verified by TruthLock.

7. Children

The Site is a business website and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

Because we keep almost nothing, most requests are simple. You can clear your conversation in the agent or by clearing your browser's site data. To access, correct or delete anything you have sent us by email or through Send to us, write to support@ironrodsystems.com. Residents of the EEA, the UK, California and other jurisdictions with privacy laws may exercise the rights those laws give them, including the right to know what we hold and to have it deleted. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

9. International visitors

The Site is operated from the United States and our providers process data there. By using the Site you understand that your information is processed in the United States.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the News page.
